Novitas has been selected to develop a new eLearning programme focused on the responsible use of artificial intelligence within a GMP environment.
The programme will support employees in understanding how AI governance applies to their day-to-day responsibilities. It will focus on the decisions, controls and behaviours required when using AI to support work in a regulated setting.
Supporting responsible AI adoption
As organisations explore the potential of AI, employees need clear guidance on how and when it can be used appropriately.
This is particularly important in GMP environments, where compliance obligations, data integrity requirements and human accountability remain unchanged. AI may assist with certain activities, but employees must still understand the limitations of the technology and retain responsibility for reviewing its outputs.
The eLearning will translate responsible AI principles into clear, practical guidance that employees can apply in their work.

From governance to practical decisions
The course will focus on three key areas:
Understanding the potential risks of using AI in a GMP environment
Assessing whether AI is appropriate for a particular activity
Protecting data, verifying outputs and maintaining human accountability
Learners will consider the purpose of an activity, the information involved, the potential impact of an incorrect output and the level of review required.
The content will also reinforce the importance of using approved tools, following established organisational guidance and escalating questions when the appropriate action is unclear.
Scenario-based digital learning
Realistic workplace scenarios will be used to help learners apply the guidance in context.
These scenarios will explore the distinction between activities where AI may provide appropriate support, situations requiring additional caution and decisions that must remain under human control.
Learners will be able to assess each situation and receive feedback explaining the governance and compliance considerations involved. This will help move the learning beyond policy awareness and towards practical application.
Designed for continued use
The programme will be developed in a flexible digital format that supports efficient review, future updates and scalable delivery.
This will allow the learning to evolve as organisational guidance, technology and regulatory expectations develop, while maintaining consistent messages and decision-making principles.
Novitas learning expertise
